Andre Savard  - Rawlings Durene knit, size 44.  Black and gold Dekdebrun's logo in collar. Very rare style all original with original nameplate. LOA from the MeiGray Group.

Game Wear:  

Bill Hajt  -  Stall and Dean mesh, size 54. Stall and Dean and Al Dekdebrun tags in the collar. This style of Stall and Dean was the only tie down mesh jerseys ever made for a NHL team.  They were used in the playoffs of 77-78.  The team mis-washed the jerseys and it turned the numbers a off white, the team then took the sleeve numbers off and put on new ones and on the back they sewn a newer number of the existing one.  Rare all intact and all original. Danny Gare - Stall and Dean mesh, Size 52. Stall and Dean tag in collar and Al Dekdebrun tag in collar, "9" tag for 78-79 under size tag. This jersey is awesome all intact with original nameplate. A lot of the Stall and Dean Sabres are missing nameplates.

Larry Playfair - Maska Superfil knit, size 52. These jerseys from 79-80 season are one of the most sought after Sabres jerseys.  To have a Olympic patch jersey all intact is very very rare.  A good portion were striped of their nameplates.  This jersey is all original and all intact. LOA from the Spirit of the Game.

Game Wear:       

Rick Dudley - Maska Superfil knit, size 52. LOA from the Spirit of the Game.  This style was worn for the last part of the 79-80 season and into the playoffs. The Sabres did not were the Olympic patch during this end of the season. The jersey does show a nameplate reattachment.  I believe this to be the original Dudley nameplate, its the same silky material and you can see other stitching holes from when it was first attached.  In 80-81 these jerseys may have been used as practice jerseys or back ups.  Most Buffalo collectors believe these were used for practice in the 80-81 season.

Game Wear:       

Val James or Dave Andreychuk  - Sandow Sk durene knit, size 52.  Val James was a legendary minor league enforcer who had a few cups of coffee with Buffalo and Toronto.  Val could have worn this jersey in 1981 for about 7 games.  The name on back has been removed, which is common for Sabres jerseys from this era. The nameplate length is shoulder to shoulder. This jersey was originally sold as a game worn jersey worn by Jacques Cloutier (Sabres goalie) and Val James. After watching a DVD dated December 4, 1981 vs. Hartford you can visually see that Jacques jersey is hemmed at the waist, and this jersey is not. This jersey could have also been worn by Dave Andreychuk he wears #29 in a Sandow durene jersey in the 82-83 season and in watching a DVD from April 20, 1983 vs. Boston in game 5 of the NHL playoffs you can clearly see Dave's nameplate goes shoulder to shoulder. The number font and length of the back numbers and sleeve numbers are identical to this jersey. There is also a discrepancy in what number did Val James actually wear, according to the Society of International Hockey Research Val only wears #26 for 7 regular season games and no playoff games, then according to the Hockey Hall of Fame numerology book he wears #30 and #26. According to Hockeydb.com he appears in 3 playoff games. And according to sabresalumni.com he wears #30, #26 and #29.  So needless to say more research needs to be done to really determine who actually wore this jersey or if both.

Andre Savard - Sandow Durene knit, size 52.  LOA from the Spirit of the Game. Durene nameplate.  Both tackle twill and durene nameplates were used during this time period.

Game Wear:       

Dale McCourt  - Sandow durene knit, size 52.  It looks like a Maska nameplate was put on this jersey, I say this because you can see other old stitch holes and some loose thread.  There is no signs of another nameplate being on the jersey other then this one.  I believe they just recycled an old nameplate.

Bob Sauve  - CCM Ultrafil knit, size 50. This jersey comes directly from a former employee of the Buffalo Sabres. LOA from the Spirit of the Game. Born on date in collar 84 07.

Game Wear:       

Phil Russell and Pat Hughes - CCM Ultrafil  knit, size 52 .  LOA from the Spirit of the Game. Hughes first wore this jersey then when Russell came to the Sabres it was recycled to him, you can see the nameplate change.

Game Wear:       

Right Sleeve - 4 team repairs and good stick marks and burns. Left Sleeve - 5 team repairs with stick marks and burns. Front - Neck collar ripped from fight abuse. 4 team repairs with stick marks and burns. Back - 3 team repairs with stick marks and burns. Fight Strap - Double cloth style fight strap. Lou Franceschetti - CCM Ultrafil knit, size 52.  LOA from the Spirit of the Game. Maska tag only in collar with 52 written in pen.

Game Wear:       

Rob Ray - CCM Ultrafil knit, size 58.  Rob is currently 6^th on the all-time Penalty minute’s leader list with 3207 pm’s. Rob made this jersey wide and short and had the fight strap cut out so the jersey could fly right off him in a fight.  The NHL then mandated all players must attach their fight strap because of Rob. This jersey came directly from a Sabres employee. This jersey has been video matched to the second half of the season and the playoffs.
